children's bathroom: after

As promised, here's the kids' bath reveal! (finally).

But, first, I think we all need to take a moment to remember the bath that was.

shiver.

gives you the willies, doesn't it?

well, it's long gone, sistas! here's the first layer, all finished up :)

Ta da! I know. Crazy it's the same room.

a few details...

So, there you go! It's been so nice to have it done. Bright, clean, new :) Well, it's clean now, anyway. Thanks, Anonymous, for getting my duff in gear to clean it really well for today's post. Ha.

Have a great weekend, everybody!!!

Hi, Rachel :) Thank you! I love it, too. It was the big splurge for this project. As far as medicine cabinet splurges go, anyway. It's from www.rejuvenation.com - the "Mendenhall" inset cabinet. Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. I've been so happy with our choices. It's actually even fun to clean this room now! It looks so pretty afterward :)

How are the tiles now? We have gutted our 6 year old little girl's bathroom in our early 1930s home and will be doing just about the same thing you've done here. Baby blue walls, pedestal sink, and I am dying for hexagon mosaic tiles but everyone is talking me out of it. They say I will regret it because it will be so, so hard to keep clean and eventually look horrid. I know I don't want marble because eventually it will look terrible because it is naturally porous. What did you use and has it held up well and hows the cleaning? Have I lost my mind?

Hi, Anna. Ours are ceramic from Home Depot... or maybe Lowe's? One of the two. We had the grout sealed and, as you can see, it's a medium gray color. I LOVE THESE TILES. It's been a year since we put them in. Since it's a small floor space, I clean them on my hands and knees. Toothpaste splatters, spilled soap, etc. have gotten down in the grout, but I just use a toothbrush I keep for just such purposes and it's no big deal. If you *never* want to clean your floor, then this isn't the right choice for you. (But, that would be gross.) I love them. Even when I have to clean them, I actually enjoy doing it because they're so pretty to me.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so, so much Jacci. I plan on keeping it as clean as it possibly can be. Everyone just has me so crazy worried about it staining with mud and such. You've made me feel much better. I actually looked at the ceramic hex sample at Home Depot so probably the same you have. The floor is my big splurge and will end up (I'm sure) being my absolute favorite part of the bathroom. I've been told, "it will age the room." Yes, I know. I don't want it to look new. : ) Thank you so much again!!!
