crazyjoy: wish

You know how sometimes you're just fried? That was me tonight at around 8 o' clock. I plopped down on the couch with my laptop, half listened to whoever tried to talk to me, and clicked on whatever came my way. This click led to that click led to that. Funny how small the blog world can be. Before I knew it, I was visiting this blog and doing a double take at the photos in the header.

Wait a minute. That's
Ashley Ann's sister*.

See that? Funny. So, I spent a little veg-out time scrolling through Lesley's blog. She has a little weekly photo challenge called
CrazyJoy. I know. This is a house blog. But, seriously, we just had a baby. And, although house things are happening around here, house posting hasn't been. I'm just not taking photos of drywall compound these days. So, I'm thinking maybe I should loosen up. I can post whatever I want. Tonight, I want to post about CrazyJoy :)

recipe for crazy

The inspiration word for this week was WISH.

Here's my (totally unstaged - promise!) interpretation...

Brother (aka Little Dude) had been quietly engaging himself for a while before I finally went out to see what he was doing. It was nearing snacktime and, apparently, he knew it. There he was, drawing away at the kitchen table with his basket of markers and with his snack... all planned out.

Wish.

Now, I'm sure you're wishing I'd get down to business and post something about the house, right? Sam is working on Bedroom 4. He has to because Punkin and SweetP are moved into Bedroom 2 right now which is supposed to be the nursery. Excuse the excessive use of italics in this post, but I feel it is needed. Can you believe FIVE babies and I've never once really had the nursery ready to go before the child arrived? Five? I got really close with our first baby, SweetP, but we were broke, didn't know if she was going to be a boy or girl, and her "nursery" was really just the tiny den in our one bedroom D.C. apartment. I made it as cute as I could, but, you know. Almost.

Oh, well. Baby's sleeping in our room right now, anyway. The nursery will come. We'll get there. And, by the time I get to it, I'll know a bit of her personality. Her nursery will be her.

So, you can expect some posts on Bedroom 4's progress.

And, eventually, a bunch of nursery posts.

I also have a mental list of about 436 little projects that I either really need to do this fall or really want to do this fall. I'm sure a few of those will find their way into a post.

I have a few ideas that kind of double as crafty/art time with the children, too. And some really fabulous gilt fingernail polish I'm going to be crazy and try. So, I'll probably post those. We got a new camera... again. This time it's a fancy pants one for Sam and I to share. I really need to get in the habit of snapping our everyday lives. Partly for the practice, partly because this season of life is going to be so short. I want to capture it somehow. I don't know. I guess this fall will just be a jumble of different stuff with house & style things thrown in there. Maybe different than it has been for the past two and a half years. Posting will probably be more than slightly irregular, but I'm hoping it will be fairly frequent.

This blog helps motivate me to keep making this house home. To keep making things better.

I've told you before and I'll say it again. You guys and your comments just make it all so much more fun. You're really encouraging! So, thanks for reading. For sticking it out when I drop off the face of Blogland for weeks... sometimes months. And thanks for commenting. That's awesome.

Hope you have a great one!

* of course, Lesley is her own woman and her own blogger... more than Ashley's sister. But, since I first "met" her through Ashley Ann's blog, that was my thought when I came across Recipe for Crazy. Now that we're clear on that... good :)

I definitely agree that having a blog is a great motivator to get things done around the house!

Looking forward to more posts from you :)

Hi!

I found your blog ´cause I´m participating on "CrazyJoy" for some weeks, now. And I love it! Love the way you make it clear that yes, this IS a house blog, but it is STILL your blog and you may wanna share different things sometimes. Great!

Kisses and blessings.
